Jaxon goes for a hike, part 2

Jaxon was so good on the previous hike we decided to be more adventurous. At Bryce Canyon National Park the guidebook called Navajo Loop/Queen's Garden Trail the "best three mile hike in the world." How could we not try it?

We started on a bright sunny day at an overlook

and were quickly into the the steep stuff,

then got into some flatter areas,

took a little nap,

had a break with a curious chipmunk

and then got rained and hailed on. Thankful we found another archway to take shelter in during the height of the rain, which lasted for about 10 minutes.

This is one of the last pictures I took on the hike. Lora was amazing carrying Jaxon ~99% of the hike, but the last part was uphill and she was tired (deservedly so). She lasted until the last five minutes when she switched with me.

All in all a great hike...beautiful scenery, but we could have done without the rain!
